Every problem to the WTS is solved by going to all the meetings, putting in more hours in field service, and praying more. The Elders have an answer to all your problems. They really don't care what your problems are. They have no compassion for anyone.

Local Needs tonight
by metaspy inhere is something i thought was a bit weird.. tonights local needs was about depression.
not so much in how we can help those with depression, but about getting over it.. the brother used the scriptures about elijah and the widow to show who was relying on jehovah.. he mentioned how the widow was obviously depressed.
then showed how she should have been like elijah.. as i sat there and listened, i realized his underlying message:.

who's fault is it?
by bigdreaux inwhen it comes to the society, are they to blame for the control they use upon the members, or is it the peoples fault?
should we blame the society for tricking people?
or is it the people that let themselves be tricked?

I blame myself for believing it all these years. When we were first introduced to WTS as small kids,we were impressed how nicely dressed everyone was,how there were no images of Christ on the walls, how they had different speakers instead of one,and how they used the Bible to teach. Also, they didn't smoke, drink, gamble, take drugs, and gave their time to teach the Bible to people who would show an interest.
Now,I believe that the WTS is just a book publisher and real estate corporation. The selling of books, magazines, and the recent selloff of properties show me that they hide their real interests. The 12 men have alot of power only on those who do not think for themselves. The constant demand to do more proved to me that they want to be served and not God. God is not that demanding that we need 3 meetings per week, fill out time cards to show how much time we spent in field service, and the constant reminder about serving the ''FAITHFUL AND DISCREET SLAVE''.

Isaiah 64:8
8 But now, O Lord , you are our Father;
we are the clay, and you are our potter;
we are all the work of your hand.11:05 TALK Do not ''conform yourself to this system of things''
I think that the WTS are starting to realize that members are tuning them out when it comes to the internet, television, books, and other reading material.
The speaker said, ''We should not be influenced by what the world watches. Little by little ,we will see nothing wrong with worldly programs and may even enjoy them. How much time do you spend on these activites? Have you read the Bible all the way through? How many hours do you put in service? "
Do you think that some members are starting realize that the WTS can't control their homelife any longer? Are the members just going through the motions?

Will the Book Study ever be dropped from the weekly meetings?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inthe book study is one of the most useless meetings.
the same books have been studied 3 or 4 times.the meeting takes only an hour but takes up most of your evening.
and, it is one of the least attended meetings.. why haven't they combined the watchtower study with just question and answer and then follow with the book study with just question and answer?

offers to study after going inactive!!
by gabriella ini just recieved my third offer to have a bible study after being inactive for several years.
hello,, i remember where the kh is if i wanted to attend and i think after five meetings a week my whole life i know what the teachings are without having another "study".
i just found it very degrading and arrogant to assume that there must be something "wrong with me" or that i "needed help".

What they are trying to tell you is that you are "weak in the faith." You need ''solid food'' again. They have a Bible study(not) that will get you back to spiritual health.
The Elders have offered to study with me and I always refuse. Tell them it's not knowledge that you need and that reading and studying the Bible is not your weakness. Refuse the study.

Whats the funniest thing you've ever seen happen in the KH?
by shell69 ini remember being a kid and we didnt have the fancy fabric seats, they were plastic stackable chairs all set out in the usual lines.. an elderly bro, rather rotund, farted, the noise so loud and thundering against the plastic seat!
or the time when i must have been about 7, my dad brought his bible study family to their first ever meeting, i had to sit on mums knee.
i recall giving the daughter of the new family a very vigorous v sign during the meeting.

The Book Study conductor(who was around 80 years old) was looking for hands to answer one of the questions. His wife was the only hand that was raised. He forgot her first name. She said,"Come on,what is my name?" We couldn't stop laughing. He finally remembered her name.

Get well soon!
I found JWD and couldn't believe how much knowledge you have. I love the weekly WatchTower review. They really know how to spin things around. The Elders in each congregation should have as much insight as you. But we all know they don't go beyond what is written.

Did the time come when it became unbearable to walk in the Kingdom Hall?
by RULES & REGULATIONS ini didn't attend any meetings in the month of august.
i worked too many hours and i just don't care any longer.
just the thought of driving 45 minutes, greeting brothers and sisters who don't really care about each other, singing the dreadful songs, listening to the boring talk(which are repeats of a repeat),going over the slanted watchtower study and then driving another 45 minutes home.. how did you feel when you knew that it was becoming unbearable to attend another meeting?.

CO tells us the reason for the Tract Work
by stillajwexelder inok so this was told to the entire congregation by the circuit overseer.
"the society knows the tract work brings hardly any new disciples in.
we get a few good experiences out of it and a few start studies and attend a few meetings.

RULES & REGULATIONS
A tract was left at my door a couple of months ago. They rang my doorbell and left after a few seconds. They were off to the next house without even making a presentation.
They start out new members passing out tracks in the preaching work to show how easy it is. They build up easy hours for the month. Also they see who the weak ones are in the preaching work. If they don't show up for the easy assignment of passing tracks, then they know who to counsel on getting in their hours.
